AI systems engineering and agent harnesses

Shaun Patrick Stewart builds AI agent harnesses: the system around AI agents that lets them carry out system and software engineering autonomously. Since 2024 he has built his own custom harness for fail-proof, autonomous engineering and uses it to build software products and systems from scratch. He takes on software engineering, AI harness development, and business consulting work for clients and companies in Florida, across the U.S., and worldwide.

What the work is

An AI model on its own answers questions. A harness turns it into a working engineering team: it gives agents the tools, rules, checks, and memory to plan, build, test, and verify work over many steps, so the work keeps going without someone standing over it.

Shaun’s goal for his own harness is a fail-proof system he can trust to do the work right.

Where it comes from

The work grew out of more than 20 years in operations. Shaun started on the shop floor, moved into operations management, then consulting, then business more broadly and building companies. Along the way he turned job-management software into a system that hands every employee their day. From there he learned AI harness and systems engineering, first to make engineering run autonomously, then to build products with it.

How he can help

  • Agent harness development: design and build a harness that lets AI agents do system and software engineering on their own.
  • Software engineering for clients: software and systems for clients and companies, built from scratch with his harness.
  • Operations and business: his other work is operations consulting and business development.

Questions about AI systems engineering work

What does Shaun Patrick Stewart build with his AI agent harness? Software products and systems, from scratch. He built a custom AI agent harness for autonomous system and software engineering and uses it for that work himself.

Does he take on software engineering work for clients? Yes. Software engineering for clients and companies, AI harness development and engineering, and business consulting are the work he is pursuing now.

Does he work with clients outside Florida? Yes. He is based in Orlando and takes AI systems engineering, consulting, and company-building work across the U.S. and worldwide.

How does this connect to his operations work? It grew out of it. He spent more than 20 years running, turning around, and automating businesses, and his AI harness extends the business automation he built before AI.
